UGANDAN COACH Sam Ssimbwa has resigned as the head coach of Police FC after one-year in charge of the Cops side.

Speaking to Saturday Sports, Ssimbwa said, "I have resigned because of a lot of pressure. I also have family issues back home which need my serious attention,”

"I wanted to win the trophy with Police but I failed to achieve my target due to different circumstances thus I had to step down and look for something else to do,”

"I have terminated my contract with Police. I have done everything I could for the club and I am sad that I had to leave the club this way,” Ssimbwa said.

The Police Spokesperson Jean de Dieu Mayira confirmed Ssimbwa’s resignation saying, "He resigned due to his own personal reasons and we have accepted his resignation”.

"We are going to look for a possible replacement because we have to compete in the Cecafa Kagame Cup next month and preparations have to start immediately,”

"We would like to thank him for his services and wish him well in future,” added Mayira.

Ssimbwa replaced Serbian Goran Kopunovic in May 2013 on a two year contract, but has resigned after serving one year.
