Dear editor,
It is so bad that we are getting nothing in the Beijing Olympics yet we have all it takes to get medals.

I don’t understand how people from Ethiopia earn medals yet, when compared to us, they seem to be having fewer resources than us in terms of finances and security.

Jean de Dieu Nkundabera remains the country’s sole hope for the medal in Beijing I hear.

The 800m Paralympics star is expected to compete in the Paralympics Games set for September 6-17 in which I have lost hope of us ever getting any medal.

I only had hope in Disi Dieudonne but I have been disappointed after the results from Sunday’s marathon that also saw our female athlete lose.

Disi was ‘miles’ away from Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele who finished on the first position.

Innocent Rwabuhihi, their coach, was giving funny excuses that can’t convince me and probably some other people that look at things logically.

I can’t imagine this coach saying that the Ethiopians and Kenyans had a strategy of many runners which worked to their advantage.

Ben Ruganganzi, Rwanda’s Ambassador to China, was so generous when he thanked Disi which is encouraging but the Olympic committee should stop being short sighted if we are to earn a medal or medals.

We are capable of earning as many medals as we can, considering the many achievements we have attained in other areas so far.

Look at the trophies the ORTPN and the National Ballet have brought, for a start.
