Mützig Amabeats: Top five DJs to rock the finals revealed

The Mützig Amabeats DJ competition reached its peak in an electrifying ceremony that took place at Kigali City Tower on Saturday, September 16, with only the most skillful and crowd-pleasing DJs securing their places to the finals.

Out of the ten contestants who had battled fiercely in the semi-finals, the crème de la crème emerged. These top 5 DJs are DJ Lenzo, DJ Yolo, DJ Dallas, DJ Kavori, and DJ Noodlot.

The judging criteria were diverse, encompassing factors such as technical skills, crowd reception, votes from Mützig beer purchases from the DJs&039; fridges, punctuality, and overall technique. The scrutiny was intense, ensuring only the best of the best advanced to the finals.

The event kicked off with a bang at 19:50 as DJ Oz faced off against DJ Yolo, with the latter stealing the hearts of the audience. At 20:50, DJ Dallas and DJ Kavori took the stage, both leaving a lasting impression on the crowd.

The energy continued at 21:45 when DJ Montag and DJ Illest stepped up, although the crowd's enthusiasm seemed somewhat subdued. Then, at 22:37, DJ Kay G battled DJ Bhura, with the latter enjoying strong support from the audience. Finally, at 23:20, DJs Lenzo and Noodlot took center stage, garnering the most adoration.

The stage was designed as a boxing ring, complete with DJs entering donning boxing gloves and capes. Even a model made an appearance with round 1 and round 2 signs, mimicking a boxing match. Each DJ was given 10 minutes for a freestyle performance followed by 5 minutes dedicated to scratching and showcasing their skills.

MC Tessy and MC Nario played their roles as entertainers, keeping the crowd engaged during transitions and performances. Mutzing fans also had the opportunity to win branded merchandise.

The winners were announced at 00:10. DJ Lenzo emerged as the crowd favorite, securing his place in the finals, scheduled for Saturday, October 7.

This competition, sponsored by Bralirwa Plc, aims to shine a spotlight on DJs, highlighting their talent and the quality of music in Rwanda. It also serves as a platform for business opportunities, networking, and leisure activities through competitive events.

The grand prize for the winner is an exclusive one-year brand ambassador contract valued at Rwf18 million, accompanied by DJ equipment worth Rwf5 million. The first runner-up won&039;t go empty-handed either, as they will receive a one-year brand ambassador contract valued at Rwf12 million, along with DJ equipment worth Rwf2.5 million. Lastly, the second runner-up will be awarded a cash prize of Rwf2.5 million.
