SC Kiyovu vs APR

Sec Academy vs Police

SC KIYOVU will find it tough against APR in the semi-final second leg clash of the 2014 Peace Cup competition after three of their players joined Burundi’s Vital’O FC.

Former SC Kiyovu coach Gilbert Yaoundé Kanyankole, who’s back to Vital’O,  boosted his new side with early deals to goalie Andre Mazimpaka and midfielders Christian Mbirizi and Tuyisenge Pekeyake.

Both Mazimpaka and Tuyisenge signed for one year, while Mbirizi was given a two-year contract. It was also reported that Kanyankole is trying to lure striker Ally Musa Muhadjili Hakizimana and midfielder Hussein Habimana from Kiyovu to the Bujumbura based side, which he managed before joining Kiyovu at the start of last season.

Without the trio, Kiyovu interim head coach Ashraf Munyaneza Kadubiri will have a huge task against APR on June 27, seeking to overturn a 1-3 defeat from the first leg on June 7.

To make matters worse for Kadubiri’s team, they will also be without the suspended duo of Hussein Habimana and Mukamba Musombwa, who were both sent off in the first leg.

In the other semi final match, Sec Academy will host Police FC, with the latter in pole position following a 4-2 victory in the first leg on June 7. All the second leg matches are due June 27, while the Peace Cup final is slated for July 4 (Liberation Day).
