RWANDAN HIP-HOP star Emery Gatsinzi aka Riderman is set to launch a new album this month.

Riderman shot to fame with his glass-shattering track Rutenderi more than four years ago and is gearing up for the release of his sixth studio album.

"I’m putting final touches to the album which consists of ten songs and will be released this month at a date to be confirmed soon,” Riderman said in a phone interview.

The rapper told The New Times that everything is in place and the details for the launch will be announced soon.

Riderman said his new album will feature songs recorded in East Africa’s widely spoken languages — English and Kishwahili — in order to expand his audience.

Riderman is known for hits like Umwana w’Umuhanda, Nakoze Iki, Cisha Make and Ibyahishuwe among others.

He was the winner of Primus GumaGuma Super Star (PGGSS) 3.

The 26-year-old formed his first group, UTP, in 2006. Later, he formed a band called Soldier with two other teenage boys, performing as the group’s lead singer before embarking on a solo career.

He released his first solo album in 2009.

Riderman has shared a stage with many international stars including Sean Paul, Mr. Flavour, Elephant Man, Koffi Olomide, Brick and Lace and Sean Kingston during their concerts in Rwanda.
