Game 4: APR 77-67 REG

Point guard Odile Tetero bagged a game- high 28 points to power APR women basketball club to a convincing 77-67 Game 4 win over Rwanda Energy Group (REG) on Wednesday at BK Arena and move a step closer to the 2023 league championship.

The 25-year-old added seven rebounds and five assists, as APR took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven finals.

REG started a game brightly, winning the first quarter 22-13 but APR bounced back to take the second quarter 13-10 to narrow the deficit to six point as REG were leading 32-26 at the break.

Returning to the second half, a more energized APR started to press REG winning the third quarter 20-8 and the last quarter 31-27 to take home the win and go in pole position to win the trophy.

"We have been able to beat a strong team [REG] in two straight games, what a night!” Tetero said in a post-match interview.

Game 5 will take place on Friday, September 15, at 7pm.

The army side so far leads the finals series 3-1 after coming from 86-87 Game 1 loss to winning Game 2 (60-59) and Game 3 (84-81).

"We look forward to Game 5. I am going to give everything I’ve got,” added Tetero.

In Wednesday&039;s win, Akon Rose Paul Macuei contributed 21 points while Sandra Kantore and Assouma Uwizeye added 11 and 10 points respectively.

The winner of this season will represent Rwanda at the Africa Zone Five Club 2023 Championship scheduled between October and November in Kigali.
