It is sensitisation about anti-mosquito spray that lacked

I recently read an article saying Jehovah and prostitutes refused the spraying of their houses in the on-going government campaign of mass residual spraying of mosquitoes.

I also read the subsequent letters to the editor refuting the allegations, why on earth would people refuse to partake in the free yet important health exercise moreover in a government endeavour to rid the city of malaria parasites?

I am not a Jehovah Witness but have not had my house sprayed yet not because I do not want but need to be sure of my health and that of my family members; and I think every responsible adult would have that in his mind.

What is lacking I think is the sensitization for people to fully understand and be in position to see the campaign’s benefits outweighing side effects.

I have listened to some programs on radios and the experts are telling us that the mosquitoes, those people who had their houses sprayed hear in the night are not harmful.

That they do not feed on human blood but these people say the mosquitoes do bite them.

The campaigners also say that the spraying did not mean we have our mosquito nets thrown away, then why do we need the massive spray?

How can that be explained to a common man like me?
