Last weekend, the Primus Guma Guma Superstar Season four contestants had yet another road trip to Ngoma in the Eastern province. As the norm is, an elated crowd filled up Ngoma stadium as they eagerly waited for the contestants to perform and not even the heat from the sun dissuaded them from attending the show.

The hosts; Anita and Tino cracked up the crowd with a few members from the audience dancing on stage to compete for Primus goodies before the contestants would take the stage.

First on stage was Amag the black flanked by a backup singer. The sensational hip hop artiste graced the show with an exciting opening performance with his songs like Mana Yanjye, Care next and Tur’kwishuri that got his fans singing along. His performance was much better than the previous at Kabarondo.

Kora award nominee, Christopher came second with songs such as Habona and Irijoro. This time round however, his performance wasn’t as thrilling like the previous ones and was overshadowed by the subsequent performances from fellow contestants.

Dream Boys came third. In a rather simple style, they gave their all to the delight of their fans that cheered them on and danced away to their music such as Tubaye umwe, Ugaraguza agati, Urare aharyana among others. The most breathtaking performance was their rumba rendition of Nshatse Inshuti that saw the crowd sing and dance along frantically. It was a clear indication that they are a force to reckon with this season.

Diana Teta came fourth and used her well regarded composure to thrill her fans. Hit after hit, the notch was going higher as the crowds joined in excitement. Songs like Canga Ikarita, Kata, Ndagukunda and the revered Fata Fata excited her fans in the audience.

The Dutaramane star, Jules Sentore came fifth and gave his fans a treat with his different songs ad-libbed to give an almost new delightful experience to his fans. Songs like Udatsikira, Ngera and Dutaramane didn’t miss on his play list.

Eric Senderi International hit came right after Sentore but unlike the rest; he always has something unique up his sleeves to leave fans all keyed up. Clad as a biker, he hit the stage with two backup dancers that got the audience ecstatic about his dress code as well his music. Songs like Turi mu muvuduko and APR ruled his performance.

Jay Polly hit the stage and gave a staggering performance leaving his fans asking for more by the time he was done. The Tuff gangs hip hops star grows more popular at every other different road show and going by the audience’s reaction; he is a formidable candidate for the biggest prize. He sang songs like Deux Fois Deux, Ikosora, Vuza Ingoma and Ku musenyi to his fans.

Bruce Melody, an RnB artiste also gave even a much better performance than the previous one as he sang his songs fused with Rock beats. The crowd sang to his music too. Songs such as Uzandabure, and Ndumiwe thrilled his fans.

Active as usual gave yet another stunning performance. Because they have mastered the art of thrilling their fans through dance, their moves also gradually get better by the day. With songs like Aisha, Udukoryo twinshi and Ubigenza ute, Active delivered to the delight of their fans.

Last to perform was Young Grace. The only hip hop lady in the contest closed the show in style with the best of her songs over time and graced her fans with a great performance than she put up in the previous show. Mpa Umusada and Party were among the songs that she performed.

In general, as the competition gets tougher by the day, the contestants also adaptively change style for the better to put up with competition. PGGSS 4 continues next week in Rwamagana .
