SORAS Remembers: Emphasizes national development

Management, staff, friends and some clients of SORAS, an Insurance Company, on May 9th 2014 gathered at the company’s headquarters to mark the 20th commemoration of 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.  Prior to the commemoration ceremony, members held a Walk to Remember to the company’s memorial site that was unveiled the same day. Current information indicates that the company lost nine staff members during the genocide. 

During the commemoration which attracted family members of those killed during the genocide, the deceased were remembered for their role in contributing to the company’s growth and development as well as their commitment to serve their nation. It all started with a prayer to honour all those who were killed.  The Minister of Sports and Culture, Protais Mitali appreciated the efforts of SORAS Insurance Company not only in contributing to the country’s development but also its efforts in building social cohesion. 

"As we commemorate and remember our loved ones as a nation, it is very important SORAS RemembersEmphasizes national  developmentto work together in ensuring that what happened does not ever happen again; and by coming up with the idea of this memorial site, am sure that we shall always remember and work towards a brighter future,” said Mitali.
