RWANDA Cricket Association (RCA) has donated cricket equipment to schools to enable them prepare for the upcoming schools cricket week for both boys and girls.

The initiative is part of efforts to develop grassroots cricket especially in schools.

Fifteen secondary schools across the country received the cricket equipment. The equipment was donated by LVSOS Kit Aid and a group of well-wishers from UK.

"All the kit received will go to schools cricket development and we are very grateful to our donors,” said Emmanuel Byiringiro, RCA’s Secretary General.

The kit bags given to schools were loaded, with helmets, bats, pads, balls, soft balls, wicket-keeping gloves and pads, batting gloves, thigh guards and abdominal guards among others. Meanwhile, the Computer Point T20 tournament continues this weekend.
