The ongoing Egypt, Middle East Expo at Amahoro Stadium has been extended by three more days. According to organisers, the expo which was supposed to end on May 11, will instead close on May 14 due to public demand.

The organisers, Smart Egypt, were overwhelmed by the huge turnout over the past 12 days, receiving over 6,000 showgoers daily.

"To cover the extension period we have stocked new goods and we will further adjust our discounts in the remaining days,” Ashraf Mahmoud, the group’s executive secretary.

Natacha Haguma, the Rwandan co-ordinator for the expo, said they had received support from the authorities, noting that the businesses environment had been conducive.

The expo features a range of household items, clothes and jewelry from the Middle East and Egypt.
