Best exhibitors win prizes

HUYE – A mini trade fair organised by the Rwanda Private Sector Federation (PSF), in the Southern Province, ended on Monday with the awarding of medals to the best exhibitors.

Enterprise Sina Gerard, the makers of Nyirangarama products (beverages, pepper, etc), MTN Rwanda and Muhanga district were among the top exhibitors who were awarded prizes.

The nine-day event that was attended by over 100 local and international exhibitors attracted over 62,000 visitors. Companies from countries like Kenya and Cameroon were also among the exhibitors. 

Officiating at its closure, the Provincial Executive Secretary, Jeanne Izabiliza urged exhibitors to explore the various business contacts made during the event to improve their production.

"The end of the mini trade fair means the beginning of more production, improved quality and quantity and expanding of businesses accruing from lessons learnt and contacts made,” said Izabiliza.

Prisca Mujawayezu, the Deputy Executive Secretary of PSF appealed to Provincial authorities to set aside land for the construction of permanent exhibition grounds in the Province.

Mujawayezu hailed the area business community for embracing trade exhibitions. She observed that such exhibitions create an opportunity for learning and improving on the quality of products and creation of market for products.

During the event, visitors were entertained by MTN Rwanda’s music and dance groups.

There was also the screening of the latest episode of the Ikigeragezo Cy’ubuzima (Tribulations of life) by a local film production group, Shiloh Film Production.
