African V-ball: Sibomana says APR lost to ‘better teams’

RWANDA’S REPRESENTATIVE in the ongoing African Women Volleyball Club Championships, APR lost all their group matches to exit the tournament in the first week.

According to the head coach Viateur Sibomana, the Rwandan champions were beaten by better opponents in Carthage, Tunisia.

As a result, APR will only fight for the 9-16 positions against Nkumba, Chlef, Water Sports Bafia, Manga Sport, Ndejje and Bejaia. Sibomana said, "We did our best, we tried but we were in a tough group which was hard for us to progress, but we have gained some experience playing against some of the top teams in Africa.”

On the first day on Saturday, APR lost to Kenyan champions, Pipeline 3-0 (25-12, 25-16 name 25-17). On Sunday, they were beaten by FAP from Cameroon 3-2 (21-25, 28-26, 22-25, 26-24 and 15-13) before losing 3-0 to Chlef of Algeria (25-23, 25-12 and 25-10).
