LAST YEAR’S the national women’s football league first runners-up, The Winners are aiming for victory when they face Pool A leaders Inyemera this afternoon in Gicumbi.

Gisozi-based The Winners, who are two points adrift of Inyemera, are targeting a win that will see them dethrone Gicumbi -based Inyemera. The first-leg match between the two sides ended a goalless draw.

Inyemera are top with 24 points, The Winners are second with 22, Kamonyi are third with 19 points, while Atletico with 3 points are bottom of the seven-team pool.

"We are going to do everything possible to collect a win. Winning that game will increase our chances of finishing top of pool A,” The Winners coach Diane Tumutoneshe told Saturday Sport.

In other matches, Kamonyi host Bugesera at Remera-Rukoma grounds, while Girls Academy entertain Les Lionnes in Muhanga.

In Pool B, reigning champions AS Kigali, who lead with a maximum 21 points, face second-placed ESIR of Musanze district, who are five points behind, while Don Bosco take on Freedom in Gatenga.
