RAYON SPORTS skipper Faudi Ndayisanga is optimistic that his side have a good chance to retain the league title, but they must beat Marines today at Umuganda stadium in Rubavu.

The Burundian international admits Rayon, without their head coach Luc Eymael, will have to avoid dropping points against a very tricky Marines side. Eymael travelled back home in Belgium to sort personal issues

The Nyanza-based side needs to win all their four remaining games to be assured of lifting the title for a second consecutive season regardless of what their nearest rivals APR do in their matches.

"We are on top of the table. We have been winning our games and we will try to continue doing so in the remaining four games,” Ndayisanga, who took over the captain’s armband this season from Aphrodis ‘Kanombe’ Hategekimana, said.

Hategekimana said his team is good and can win any game. "I am confident that we are ready to retain the title, we have to give our best in each match,” he stated before adding that "if we can be consistent, I don’t see why we can’t win the title.”

Rayon Sports are top of the league with 52 points; level with second-placed APR but the former have a superior goal difference.

Remaining matches

After Marines, Rayon will host AS Kigali on April 20 at Amahoro stadium and Esperance on April 26 at Kigali regional stadium before winding up the season against Musanze on May 3 at Amahoro stadium.

Meanwhile, APR, who take on SC Kiyovu today at Kigali regional stadium, will next face Amagaju on April 20 at Kigali regional stadium; Espoir in Rusizi on April 26 and AS Muhanga in Kicukiro on May 3.
