APR and Amavubi Stars winger Jean Claude Iranzi is hoping to recover from a knee injury and play a part in the closing stages of his team’s league title chase.

The 23-year old picked up the injury a month ago in a league match against Police which the army side won 1-0. He is expected to start light training next week.

Second-placed APR face Iranzi’s former club SC Kiyovu in the league on Saturday at Kigali regional stadium. Leaders Rayon Sports will be up against Marines FC in Rubavu on Saturday.

"It is frustrating to spend a whole month on the sidelines and unable to help your team on the field of play, but I am making good progress and hope to play a part in the last few games of the season,” Iranzi told Times Sport on Thursday.

APR are in second position but tied on 52 points with Rayon who have a superior goal difference.
