APR WILL go into today’s Group One matches against Christ Roi and Group Scolaire de Butare aiming to maintain their unbeaten record in the ongoing national men’s volleyball league.

The matches were supposed to be played last weekend but the Rwanda Volleyball Federation postponed them to allow student-players to feature for their teams in the inter-university competitions.

APR, who have won all their seven games, are in third position with 18 points, level with table leaders, Kigali Volleyball Club and second-placed INATEK both of whom have played three matches more.

APR head coach Sammy Mulinge whose team reached last season’s playoff finals before losing 3-1 to eventual winners NUR (UR-Huye), said, "We want to continue to win more games because we want to be at the top of the table and win the title.”

In Group Two, defending champions UR-Huye will host UR-College of Education and Rayon Sports in Huye, while in Group Three, St Joseph will meet Rusumo High School and Petit Seminaire Virgo Federis.
