AFTER SECURING three important points against fifth-placed Espoir last weekend, AS Muhanga coach Ali Bizimungu thinks his team has turned the corner in their bid to avoid relegation.

The Muhanga-based side shocked high-flying Espoir in Rusizi to move five points above Esperance, a side currently occupying the last of the two relegation spots.

Bizimumgu, whose team has been languishing in the bottom three for most of the season, believes last weekend’s win can rejuvenate his team ahead of the last six games of the campaign.

AS Muhanga go into this weekend’s clash against SC Kiyovu in 11th position but confident of building on their win over Espoir.

"We are still in a difficult position and we must do more in the last six games to move away from the danger (relegation) zone. We had a good win last weekend and I hope we can build on it against Kiyovu, we’ll be playing at home,” the former Rayon Sports coach said on Friday.

He said that though the club started the season on a bad note, they are now on track to end it well. "We need to continue to try to win our remaining games, and I am confident we will stay up.”
