Rwanda has climbed from 87th to 83rd in the latest Fifa world rankings released on Wednesday, an improvement of four places.

Rwanda has climbed from 87th to 83rd in the latest Fifa world rankings released on Wednesday, an improvement of four places.

World/Africa Cup group 8 rivals Morocco remain 37th; Ethiopia improved by one place 107 and Mauritania are 144th.

Rwanda’s latest position, the highest ever makes it the highest placed country in the East African region. Kenya is second at 91st.

Uganda is at 96th, Tanzania remained unmoved at 155th whereas Burundi improved by three places from 133rd to 130th.

With no African country in the top 10, Cameroon slipped from 13th to 15th while Ghana improved from 20th to 19th.

For the first time in over a decade, Brazil are not in the top five, slipping to sixth with Croatia entering the top for the first time.

Spain take the top spot in the whole world followed by Germany, Italy and Netherlands respectively.
