THE NEWLY elected chairman of the Rwanda Handball Federation, Théogène Utabarutse has promised to up the development of the sport in the country.

Speaking to Times Sport, Utabarutse promised to focus on the development of young players to lay a foundation for excellent future national teams.

However, his main task is to ensure that the handball federation acquires a legal status to attract sponsors in organising different national championships at different age groups.

Utabarutse was voted back in office for another four-year term. He will work alongside vice chairman, General Secretary Jean Paul Ngarambe and Dieudonné Garuka, the federation’s treasurer.
