Second division football league side Isonga FC has made several changes including releasing of nine players and signing of fifteen new players.

According to the club’s Secretary General Sandra Muhimpundu, the released players are all above 17 years of age, which is the limit for the club.

"We have 15 players, who have joined the team and nine, who left because they are above the age-bracket required at the club,” Muhimpundu said.

The players released include; Amri Kalisa, Fabrice Kagirabana, Abdul Sibomana, Yusuf Habimana, Jean Luck Bisangwa, Eric Karema, Evode Ntwali, Thierry Manzi and Shadad Nsengayire.

Players in are; Jack Ntwali, Delphin Uwajeneza, J Marie Uwase, Abouba Nsengiyumva, Sadjati Niyonkuru, Jackson Ndagijimana, Kayitare Habiyaremye, Amani Niyonkuru, Abasi Byiringiro, Patrick Ndikumana, Omar Ruremesha, Rachid Bigiraneza, Djabir Manishimwe, Kevin Muhire and Djihad Nzeyurwanda.

"Before we had 24 players and now we have 30 players, we need to have many young players and we are doing everything possible to nurture more talented young players,” she added.

Muhimundu says the club will continue supporting the released players in terms of paying their school fees since most of them are still students.

She noted that the club will also continue to help the former players to get new teams.

"They are good players and the only reason we have released them is because of the club’s policy to promote young players,” she explained.

Isonga was relegated from the top flight division last season after only three seasons since its formation from the U-17 team that played at the 2011 Fifa World Youth Championship in Mexico.
