Friday: Second leg

Al Ahly Shendi vs AS Kigali (0-1)

THE Confederation of African Football has moved the Confederation Cup first round second leg match between Sudanese Al Ahly Shendi and Rwanda’s AS Kigali to Friday.

Initially, the game was supposed to be played on Sunday, but the home team requested Caf to move it to Friday.

As a result, AS Kigali altered their travel plans and set off for Khartoum last night and the team is expected to have just one training session on Thursday.

Andre Gasambungo’s Rwanda Peace Cup champions won the first leg 1-0 on Saturday and will be hoping to contain their Sudanese counterparts in Friday’s second leg clash.

"They have made it hard for us, putting the game on Friday only helps the home team, which made the request, but we will stick to our aim of getting an away goal,” Gasambungo told Times Sport on Tuesday.

"We are going to defend our goal but also try to look for another goal. We have enough fire-power in our team to get the away goal, but we have to make sure we don’t make silly mistakes,” Gasambungo added.

Right back Janvier Mutijima, who was suspended for the first leg, will be a big boost for the Kigali City side in the second leg tie.
