Kagame gets Silverbird Award of Distinction

President Paul Kagame yesterday received the prestigious Silver Award of Distinction given in recognition of good service.

The President was recognised for his leadership in peace building, reconciliation, development, good governance, promotion of human rights, women empowerment, advancement of education and communication technology.

The award was given during an annual event, the Silverbird Man of the Year,  in Lagos, Nigeria, to celebrate the continent’s achievers. 

The President was represented by Joseph Habineza, Rwanda’s High Commissioner to  Nigeria.

President Ernest Bia Koroma of Sierra Leone was also honoured for his contributions in the rebuilding of his country. 

The 2013 Silver Award was organised by Silverbird Group.
