The second division football league continued over the weekend with the top two teams in Pool A, Sunrise and Isonga FC picking easy victories, while Bugesera beat Etoile de l’Est in Pool B on Sunday.

Leaders Sunrise FC beat Vision Jeunesse 2-0 on Saturday to move to 32 points, five ahead of second-placed Isonga after the former top flight division side won 3-1 against Vision FC on Sunday at Ferwafa ground.

Sorwathe, who were held to a 1-all draw by Rwamagana dropped to third on 26 points, while struggling Akagera FC drew 1-1 with Intare and Gasabo FC lost 4-0 to Kirehe FC.

Rwamagana and Vision Jeunesse stand in fourth and fifth positions with 25 and 23 points respectively, while Akagera remain bottom of the 10-team battle with just two points.

In Pool B, last year’s Peace Cup semi-finalists Bugesera FC hammered Etoile de l’Es4-0 to go third in the table with 20 points, level with fourth-placed Unity FC, who thrashed Pepiniere 4-0 in Kacyiru on Sunday.

ASPOR beat Huye-based NUR 2-1 in Kicukiro and second-placed SEC Academy won 2-1 against United Stars to move to within three points of Interforce, who despite not playing this weekend lead the Pool with 26 points after 14 rounds of matches.
