THREE CANDIDATES are in the race for the vacant post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa). The deadline for submission of applications was Friday, February 28.

The new CEO will be announced on Tuesday.

The trio includes Rayon Sports’ Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya, his Mukura VS counterpart Olivier Mulindahabi and former Rwanda Basketball Federation marketer Innocent Karuhije.

According to Ferwafa president, Vincent De Gaulle Nzamwita, only three candidates had submitted applications for the post by Friday.

"We are going to review their applications and the best candidate will be known on Monday and the new CEO will then be announced on Tuesday after the executive committee meeting,” said Nzamwita.

Last month, Ferwafa terminated Michel Gasingwa contract after a three-year reign at the helm of the country’s football governing body. Gasingwa had held the position since 2011 when he replaced Jules Kalisa who resigned after an 8-year reign.
