Substitute Prince Rudasingwa came from the bench to score a late equalizer in the 88h minute to salvage a point for Rayon Sports who were held to a 1-1 draw by newcomers Amagaju FC at Kigali Stadium on Friday.

The Blues had struggled for goals throughout the evening until Rudasingwa came in to deny a win for the visitors who are unbeaten in their last three league games.

Rayon made several some changes to the squad which drew goalless with Gorilla FC last week as Bonheur Hategikimana returned between the posts for Adolphe Hakizimana while both Rashid Kalisa and Eric Ngendahimana started in midfield.

Both teams started on a good note making incursions into either side’s vital area but it was Amagaju who created some decent chances in attack.

The likes of Abdul Rahman Rukundo and Papy Kalunga were a delight to watch with their good interposition play as they could often find space at the back of Rayon’s defense.

Rukundo fired Amagaju ahead in the 28th minute with a sublime finish which sent traveling fans in jubilant mood.

Rayon since began to chase the game pushing for an equalizer with striker Charles Bbaale missing chances that could have resulted in goals.

Amagaju were resilient to keep the scores 1-0 at the break.

The second half begun with both teams playing an attacking game. Rayon held their fort but the attack was not clinical enough while Amagaju were, on the other end, dangerous going forward and Kalunga and Rukundo could only pose a series of attacking threats on Rayon’s back four.

With Bbaale struggling in attack alone, coach Yamen Zelfani introduced Rudasingwa to beef up the front line and it worked to perfection as his hold up play started to pay dividends.

The youngster restored parity for the home side in the 88th minute with an excellent goal to secure a 1-1 draw for the Blues.

Both teams are now tied on five points out of a possible nine after three games.

Rayon may not have lost a game yet by dropping points against Gorilla FC and Amagaju is already soarking frustration among fans, the coach, the players and club management as well.
