REFER TO 'President Paul Kagame’s remarks at the Northern Corridor Integration Projects Summit in Kampala', Uganda on February 20.

That speech just shows why he is considered among a rare breed of African leaders. His ability to put citizen interests first and ensuring that whatever he does is in the best interests of the people he serves is next to none.

I am proud to associate with the leadership in the country of a thousand hills.

One can only wonder what would happen if you had similar governments in countries that are so blessed with abundant natural resources on the continent!

President Kagame’s dedication to the interests and wellbeing of Rwandans, the people in the region and the whole of Africa is a hallmark of a true leader. Sometimes we don’t see what such leaders see because they look far ahead, only for us to see what they saw way back when it happens.

We will stand with such leaders.

Kudos to President Kagame and his Ugandan and Kenyan counterparts for their commitment to improving the livelihoods of their people and the region at large. Timely delivery of public services is key to our progress; indeed we shouldn’t fail to act waiting to first be perfect. We will respond to emerging challenges in the course of implementation.

This is a fabulous approach.
