Honour God with your Actions

The children of an earthly king must be polite and respectful of others. Even when they go to school or play sports they honour the king by the way they treat others.

God wants you to act in ways that honour Him (Colossians 3:17).

Ask yourself some of these questions to find out how you can honour God with your actions.

•Does fighting honour God? Why not?
• Does taking something that belongs to someone else honour God? Why not?
• Does talking badly about someone honor God? Why not?
• Suppose you tell someone that you are a Christian and then you grumble a lot. What does that say about the King of kings? What can you do instead of grumbling when things go wrong?
• What if you say you believe in Jesus and then you pick on someone else who is not very smart or who does not dress very well? What does that tell that person about Jesus? What could you do to show others that Jesus loves everyone?

Everyday I talk to God and ask Him to help me show people that I am His child by the things I do. You can ask God to help you do that too! Jesus lives in you to give you the power to do right.

Next week we shall see how you can honour God with your obedience.
