ANDRE KAYITERA displayed superb performance as Victory CC beat Right Guards CC to secure their first win of the year in the VR Naidu RCA T20 tournament over the weekend.

Coming into the game without their star player Ed Pearson, Right Guards proved a hard nut for Victory CC but captain Kayitera rose to the occasion to save the situation.

His quick fire of 39 runs off 34 balls and getting one wicket earned him the player of the match. The Right Guards captain Eugene Haragirimana admitted that they didn’t have enough batting strength and that’s why they put on a small score of 97 runs all out.

Challengers CC again defeated Indorwa CC by 34 runs. Indorwa again failed to stop the bad omen of losing to Challengers, the 8th time in 2 years.

Winning the toss, Indorwa chose to bowl and restricted Challengers to a relatively small score of 121 all out in 16 overs. Praveen Kumar’s 48 runs off 40 made the highest contribution.

It was Vinit Chauhan’s day after he ripped through Challengers batting order to get 6 wickets and was later named man of match.

After the second week of the VR Naidu/RCA T20 tournament, two clubs; Indorwa CC and Right Guards CC are the two clubs that will not proceed to the semi finals after losing 2 of their 3 games so far.

Challengers CC have qualified for the semi finals.
