Rwanda Cycling Federation Ferwacy announced plans to pen the Africa Rising Cycling Centre in Musanze which is expected to begin operations in the coming months.

According to Team Rwanda officials, the centre will not only benefit the development of young Rwandan riders but also riders from the neighbouring countries.

Africa Rising Cycling Centre will offer mountain bike and road bike tours using Rwanda national team cyclists as guides. Team Rwanda will be using cycling to promote tourism in the area.

ARCC will work with tourism companies in the region to encourage tourists to stay longer in Rwanda and to take in all the beauty this country has to offer.

By June, ARCC will operate a cafe to encourage tourists to stop after visiting the gorillas, to learn more about the national cycling team.

All proceeds from the cafe and centre will be used to support the training of the national team, Ferwacy, and to develop bicycling tourism in the country.

Ferwacy and Team Rwanda Cycling will announce the grand opening date(s) in the coming months.
