God’s calling is unique

We have read or heard from many persons that we are called by God for different tasks and activities, but in all call is about delivering His people from captivity.

Among the people in the bible that were called to perform this task are Moses, Aaron, Joseph, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Gideon etc. These were mighty men of valor.

We can plainly define this type of Calling as God’s personal, individual invitation to carry out the unique task he has for you.

God called Moses at the burning bush, and commissioned him to free Israel from Egyptian bondage (Exodus 2–4).  So, how did he become Israel’s leader? He did not politick for the office, nor was he balloted into the position. God appointed him in a powerful and unmistakable way.

David was regarded unimportant as the youngest of Jesse’s eight sons that he was not even brought to see Samuel at first. Yet God plainly told Samuel to anoint David to serve as king over Israel (1 Samuel 16:12–13). David was not voted into office

When  God  is appointing , commissioning , or calling His Servants  ,it is hard to know His  taste of preference  or criteria for selecting the people He is going to deploy in His  Armies / ministries unlike in our  public offices  where they  first see; education background, family background ( where necessary), employment records  , height , age,  ask  relevant  ecommendations  among other qualities.

Apostle Paul reminded people from Corinth (I Corinthians 1:26).   "Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth”

God is asking us to forget the former things and to stop dwelling on the past.  God is not asking us to erase the past from our memories...but He is asking us not to dwell on it.  He is asking us not to regard the past more than we regard the work that He wants to do today.

"My past has not defined me, destroyed me, deterred me, or defeated me; it has only strengthened me.” -  Dr. Steve Maraboli

One day, one good morning you will find yourself in God’s field serving Him than before. And you will begin to see that the compelling purpose of God lies behind everything in life, and that God is divinely shaping you into oneness with that purpose.

GOD  LOVES YOU.
