Kigali Golf Club will host a delegation of 30 golfers from Ugandan based Entebbe Club in the annual one-day Challenge between the two Clubs at the Par-18 Kigali golf course in Nyarutarama today.

The visiting delegation, led by the Entebbe Golf Club president Innocent Kihika, arrived in the country yesterday (Friday) to prepare for today’s contest, which starts at 8.00am till 5.00pm.

"This contest between the two Clubs was created as a mark of inter-club reciprocation which entitles members of Kigali Golf Club benefits when they travel to Entebbe and vice versa,” the Kigali Golf Club official said on Friday.

The Kigali team, which has five lady golfers, will be led by the Club president Dr. Richard Gakuba. The Entebbe delegation includes three lady golfers.

The event is sponsored by East African Breweries. Kigali won the first edition played at the Kigali Golf Club, Nyarutama in 2012 and Entebbe won last year’s edition at their home course.

However, for this year, the win will be determined after the first and return legs and the team with the best aggregate scores will be the winner. The return leg will be played in June at the Entebbe Golf Club.
