The Ministry of Youth and ICT has the mandate to address national priorities for economic growth and poverty reduction through the development and coordination of national policies and programs related to youth empowerment and Information and Communication Technology policies and programs.
To achieve economic empowerment through the ICT Sector, the ministry has developed various programmes including the ongoing five-year national ICT literacy and awareness campaign.
The campaign kicked off last year in Rulindo District, Northern Province in an event that attracted the public and private sector players especially those in the ICT sector including telecom companies, ICT firms and financial institutions among others.
