Players abroad: Emeran makes Groningen debut

Noam Emeran played 16 minutes on his debut for Gronningen against Willem 2 Tilburg.

Noam Emeran played his first game for Groningen during Sunday’s draw with Willem II Tilburg in the Dutch second tier.

In the Africa Club competitions, Emmanuel Imanishimwe, Ally Niyonzima, Abedi Biramahire and Meddie Kagere all saw their teams advancing to the next stage.

Both Lague Byiringiro and Yannick Mukunzi saw 90 minutes of action for Ettan Norra league leaders Sandviken IF who beat Vasalund 2-1 at the Skytteholms Stadium.

Rafael York was an unused substitute for Gefle IF who beat Sollentuna 1-0 on Sunday.

Kaleleo Uwimbabazi tasted 69 minutes of action before paving way for Erik Johansson as his side Pitea IF lost 2-1 to Talang Hammarby.

Netherlands

Noam Emeran made his debut for FC Groningen in the Dutch Eerste divisie on Sunday. The 20-year-old replaced Luciano Valente in the 76th minute as his new side was held to a goalless draw with Willem II Tilburg.

At the JJ Ugland Stadium, Ange Mutsinzi played full throttle for FK Jerv who lost 3-1 to FK Bryne.

In the third tier, goalkeeper Clement Twizere Buhake made way for Kevin

Christensen Andersene in the 84th minute as his side Strommen IF thrashed Tromsdalen 5-1 on Sunday.

Emmanuel Baru Gisa was an unused substitute for Fram Larvik who lost 2-1 to Vard Haugesund. Eric Ndayisenga came in for the winning side in the 62nd minute.

King Josias Furaha came in for Arent-Emil Hauge as his side Flekkeroy beat Traeff 3-0.

Belgium

Central midfielder Samuel Gueulette was in action for Raal La Louviere who beat Sprimont 5-1 in the fifth round of the Belgian Cup.

France

Warren Kamanzi was an unused substitute for Toulouse who lost 2-0 to Strasbourg at the Stade de la Menau on Sunday.

CAF Confederation Cup

Meddie Kagere was not in the Singida squad which lost 2-0 to JKU in Zanzibar. The Tanzanian side, however, qualified to the next stage after 4-3 win on aggregate.

Bonheur Mugisha and Thierry Manzi were both in the Al Ahli Tripoli side which beat FC Nouadhibhou 1-0 in Libya but failed to qualify to the next stage

CAF Champions League

Left-back Emmanuel Imanishimwe was an unused substitute for FAR Rabat who humiliated ASKO Club of Togo 7-0 in Rabat. FAR qualified 8-0 on aggregate

Abedi Biramihire was in action for UD Songo who drew 1-1 with Green Mambas. Songo qualified 2-1 on aggregate

Ally Niyonzima came on as a substitute for Bumamuru FC who thrashed FC Bendje 5-1 in Bujumbura to qualify for the next round with 6-2 victory on aggregate

Amavubi skipper Djihad Bizimana will feature for Kryvbas during Monday night’s clash against Kolos.

South Africa

In the ABSA Premier League, goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari was an unused substitute for TS Galaxy who lost 1-0 to Royal AM.
