The Ministry of Internal Security has warned the public against collaborating with terrorist groups bent on destabilising the country.The ministry warned that the unregistered splinter section of PS-Imberakuri political party and other groups in the Diaspora are joining hands with Democratic Forces for Liberation of Rwanda rebels (FDLR), largely composed of elements behind the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and believed to still be bent on their genocide ideology agenda.Such groups have no place in the new Rwanda which is on a clear growth path to prosperity for all Rwandans. Their plans to disturb and undermine the current peace and development enjoyed by all Rwandans should be shunned and rejected by every Rwandan.The country has witnessed remarkable economic recovery after the total collapse that followed 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.Rwanda’s economic growth has been achieved through hard work, commitment and good leadership.According to government, IMF and World Bank projections, Rwanda’s economy is projected to grow by between 7.2% and 7.5%  in 2014.Therefore, we should not allow wrong elements to interfere with this progress.  Stability is critical to maintain the positive development and to consolidate the current gains.We should work with government to identify and isolate political elements bent on causing insecurity both within and outside  the country. Militant groups operating outside Rwanda’s territory pose a serious danger to the nation and the terrorist attacks on innocent civilians in recent times are a stark reminder of the agenda of these elements. As we mark the 20th Anniversary of the Genocide against the Tutsi this year, let’s recommit to work together with security agencies to stamp out or prevent crime from people bent on destabilising the country.
