THE TWO remaining Rwandan players were beaten in the semi-finals of the on-going ITF/East Africa Junior tennis Championship on Tuesday at the Gymkhana Club in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Rwanda’s top seed Ernest Habiyambere, competing in the main category, the Boys U-16 Singles, was eliminated by Tanzania’s Martin Tumaini in the first game of  last four match.

He was followed a little later by his compatriot Fabrice Tuyishime, who lost to Burundian Abdoul Kabura 7-6 [4] 6-1 in the Boys U-14 Singles.

Tumaini’s win over Habiyambere set up a final clash with Kenyan Kelvin Cheruiwot, who ousted Tanzanian Emanuel Mallya in straight sets 6-4 6-4. The final was due to be played last evening in Dar es Salaam.
