Varsity to return to national B-ball leagues

University of Rwanda’s College of Humanities and Arts (formerly the National University of Rwanda) is likely to participate in the upcoming men and women national basketball league, it has emerged.

University of Rwanda’s College of Humanities and Arts (formerly the National University of Rwanda) is likely to participate in the upcoming men and women national basketball league, it has emerged.Also expected to feature is a Rubavu-based men side, according to the Rwanda Basketball Federation.The leagues are expected to resume next month.National University of Rwanda had teams in both the men and women leagues but withdrew them before the start of last season citing financial constraints.  "They have shown interest in featuring come next season,” Ferwaba secretary general Richard Mutabazi told Times Sport on Sunday.The federation’s general assembly is set to meet on January 19, among others, to decide on the entry of the three teams. The meeting will also discuss the calendar of the year 2014, sponsorship and legal status for league clubs.
