Serena hosts jazz concert tonight

Today Goethe Institut will present master compositions from renowned German and Japanese composers at Kigali Serena hotel at an event dubbed "New Year’s Chamber Concert.”

The performers of the night will be Japanese soprano singer Mayumi Sakamoto and Thorrsten Larbig, a German pianist.

Mayumi Sakamoto, who studied at the Tokyo National University of fine art and music and at a music school in Frankfurt Germany, has previously held concerts in Germany, Singapore, Japan, Hungary and Romania among other places. 

This will be her first performance in Rwanda. She will be backed by Thorten Larbig, who has a number of classical recordings and is a specialist in Jazz. 

The concert begins at 6p.m.
