World over, fashion industries are endlessly striving to evolve their philosophies, styles, materials and cultures, to satisfy their diverse consumers, which explains their utmost dynamism.

The diversity does not only occur in their geographical settings, but also in the differences between people’s tastes and preferences, when it comes to fashions and designs.

Fashion thrives in different contexts, owing it to the dissimilar cultures, religious values, age, ceremonies, physical environments, and other factors.

Apart from the industry, fashion in itself is made up of various components, for instance the garment fashions, hair fashions, shoes and bags, jewelry and cosmetics.

People over the years have proved to be slaves to whatever fashion has to offer, for instance the garments industries have flourished on that background, but the power that keeps people tiptoeing in ardent search for the latest trends in fashion, still remains an enigma.

Perhaps the secret is in the customer-based researches and unprecedented innovations undertaken by the stakeholders in this fraternity.

Men’s fashion has had less publicity, but that has not stopped it from blossoming and emerging with significant evolutions over the years.

Today men put on many garments ranging from designer suits, designer denim jeans and casual shirts, have also been a favorite for many people.

Traditional wear, is also another trend liked by African men and women, such as mishanana, for women and bitenge for men, with an origin from West African countries, such as Nigeria, Gabon and DRC.

What is more intriguing about men’s fashion vis-à-vis the garments industry, is the fact that they have successfully managed to revitalize older fashions and bring them to hit the current textile markets.

This can be seen in the return of the max dresses, flair trousers, V-shaped sweaters that are normally dressed between a shirt and a coat, this used to be a style of the late sixties and seventies, but it has been brought back, and it has taken people by storm.

The jean fabric, is one trend that has proved to stand the test of time, initially it used to be a men’s thing, but with the women joining the bandwagon of trouser-wearing, jeans picked substantial momentum.

Some women have also fancied mannish styles or boy styles, where by they put on suits with a masculine touch.

In a sense of true fashion styles, there should be connectivity between all the fashion components, so as to make a holistic fashion statement of a man or woman, that’s to say for a woman to be elegant and fashionable, her outfit, the shoes, bag, make up, manicure, jewelry, and hair have to be compatible.

The compatibility has to be based on the color of the outfit, and a person’s complexion and texture, all the things put on, should be empowered to bring out a harmonious blend between the person and what he or she has put on, in order to make a fashion statement and enhancement of a person’s beauty.
