DISTINGUISH BETWEEN THE NEEDS AND WANTS OF YOUR CHILD

As students were reporting to school for the new school term, you could not fail to notice their heavy bags and suitcases as they pushed and shoved for public transport. Just before all this, they were probably in their rooms packing different things in these bags before heading to school. Students will most definitely try to pack anything they feel they want. This could include lots of money, edibles, cool outfits, carbonated drinks, alcohol and drugs of all kinds. Then latter they can think of the books and other scholastic materials. As a parent or teacher, your duty is to know what a child needs while at school and sticking to just that. Children leave home for school to get an education not to win a fashion contest or get drunk on anything. Therefore schools have to be strict when checking students as they report to school. This is because much as the alcohol may be brought in by just one student, once it is in the school it is likely to be consumed by more than one student. Parents should also concentrate on giving their children those things that will be beneficial in achieving their academic goals. Some parents think it is love when they let their children take anything they want to school not knowing the effect it has on their child and to the other students. Always read the school rules and regulations and also consult with school authorities on what is accepted and what is not accepted in school. More money should be spent on scholastic materials not luxuries or edibles. Does your child have a mathematical set before you think of giving her more clothes to take to school?
