Hair Straws

This year so many women in Rwanda were spotted with hair straws. The encouraging thing about this style is that it can be done with natural and treated hair.

The hair straws style has been trendy this year because it was embraced by the corporate women as well as university students.

The beauty of it all is that it can be styled any way you want even if one’s hair is not that long. For short hair, baby rollers are used or actual drinking straws while styling to make better curls.

The hair straw style in most Kigali salons costs about Rwf15,000.

Afrocentric accessories

It’s so hard to find any fashionable Rwandan woman who does not own Afrocentric accessories.

These Afrocentric accessories range from trendy African print earrings, necklaces and clutch bags. They are made of the commonly known wax print fabric which is usually colourful and brings out what is commonly known as Afrocentric fashion. These accessories come in handy for any occasion or outfit whether casual or formal wear.

The Afrocentric accessories, especially earrings, normally cost Rwf5,000 but as the year is ending, they are at Rwf2,000. The prices of the clutch bags and necklaces have not reduced much; for example, a clutch bag which at the beginning of the year cost Rwf25,000 currently goes for Rwf20,000 to Rwf18,000.
