The return leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round game between Gaadiidka FC and APR will be played at the Kigali Pele Stadium on Thursday, August 24.

Times Sport understands that the Somalians are adopting the Kigali-based stadium as their home ground for the second leg encounter due to financial constraints.

Gaadiidka FC normally play their home games at the 10,000-capacity Banadir Stadium in Mogadishu but they will play the return leg against APR in Kigali to save cost which includes travel expenses.

The Somalian champions put up an outstanding performance in the first leg when they held APR FC to a 1-1 draw on Saturday, August 19. They will be aiming to knock APR FC out of the preliminary round with Egyptian side Pyramids FC waiting in their wings in the next round.

APR were far from convincing in the first leg and Thursday’s match could determine the future of current coach Thierry Froger who is under immense pressure from the fans following the teams’ recent abysmal performances.
