Twelve drivers set for Rally des Mille Collines

THE 30th edition of the Rally des Mille Collines, which is the final round of the Rwanda rally Championships, has attracted twelve cars.

THE 30th edition of the Rally des Mille Collines, which is the final round of the Rwanda rally Championships, has attracted twelve cars.The rally which is set for this weekend has been organised by Rally Unity team, one of the members of Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC). Ivubi and Huye motorsports clubs will also be represented.The rally which will attract Rwandan and Burundian drivers will be cover a distance totaling 190km on Saturday and Sunday and will traverse through Nyamata, Mwogo, Kamabuye, Ngeruka, Mareba, Musenyi and Gahembe.Organsiers, Unity rally team will field three cars which will be driven by Johhny Murengezi and Christopher Duquesne in a Subaru Impreza GC8, Ange Cyatangabo Francois and Noella Helga Ntirushwa in a VW Golf GTI and Serge Rusagara Sakumi and Remera Regis in a Toyota Corolla.Defending champion Davite Giancarlo being navigated by Slyvia Vindevogel will square off for the title in a Subaru Impreza alongside his fellow Ivubi racing team colleague Claude Kwizera who will be navigated by Van Der Haert Philippe in a Subaru Impreza N11.Mitraros Elefter and Paolo Paganin (Subaru Impreza N11), Mayaka Felekeni and Fabrice Nyilidandi (Mistubishi Evo 3), Bukera Valery and Nital Khetia (Burundi) in Subaru N11, Mohamed Abbas Roshanali and Amer Mohamed (Burundi) in Subaru GC8, Claude Gakwaya and Armand Birindabagabo (Peugeot 205 GTI),Janvier  Mutuga and Jules Uwimana(Peugeot 205 GTI), and  Semana Genesse Jacques in Peugeot 205 GTI are the other drivers who will take part in the rally event.Rwanda Motors, Bralirwa, SP (Societe Petroleum), UAP and Palast Rock Hotel based in Bugesera are the sponsors of the two-day rally event.
