Exuding mystery with body art

We ink our bodies because we feel it is the right thing at the time. We get tattoos to remind us of days, places and people. We mark parts of our bodies majorly for our own personal fulfillment and satisfaction but once in a while we do it for attraction.

We ink our bodies because we feel it is the right thing at the time. We get tattoos to remind us of days, places and people. We mark parts of our bodies majorly for our own personal fulfillment and satisfaction but once in a while we do it for attraction. It is these tats that we put for other people’s eyes that I want us to talk about for a moment. It is fast becoming a fad in town; tattoos are nowadays easy and more common to spot. Some tattoos are of abstract art that probably only the bearer understands and others are understood at first sight. You spot it on a co-workers lower back as she bends to get water from the dispenser; you spot it on your boss’s bicep as he lifts his hand to his head expressing frustration or on the guy sitting next to you in a taxi because he folded his shirt for you to see it. It is attractive when it is mysterious, when it peeps out of the clothes and passersby can only have a glimpse of it but when exposed intentionally it ceases to have the intended effect. When it is always exposed it easily invites questions some of which we consider bothersome and at times attracts criticism from conservatives. It is understandable that we at times get carried away by our tattoos and are consumed by the belief that passerby’s eyes should see more than just a slight glance. But by doing this we easily end up looking like show offs or insecure beings who need validation from the general public to feel whole.A word of advice that might be heard from the people we try to impress with our tattoos is that if we really want to show our tats to everyone, the best way would be to put them on visible body parts and not concealing them. There is nothing wrong with showing body ink, but how you show it probably speaks volumes about you, it could paint you as classy or an insecure character looking for validation.
