Job creation should be our goal

Generally speaking the phrase ‘job creation’ sounds like a new thing to many students and youths in general. It is something that rarely crosses our minds. I witnessed this fact recently during our final days at school, where the majority of the high school finalists were excited about finishing schooling and starting to seek available jobs.  Actually I can only remember about just two students who said they were going to figure out how they can become job creators after school. I always think about all the people out there that are seeking for job opportunities in this country, especially those with higher education as well as some experience. How is a S.6 finalist supposed to compete with such people for the same post? Shouldn’t some of us be seriously thinking about job creation? To a large extent, I have seen that many youths exclude themselves from the thought of job creation simply because they consider themselves to be young and incapable as well as financially incapacitated. But one could ask, is it true that they are no youths or students who are established entrepreneurs? Not at all. They do exist. And they should be a good example to us to create our own jobs too.I strongly believe capital and higher levels of education are not the only factors when it comes to job creation but rather creativity, self-esteem and self commitment can take you there. I have seen some students creating their own job opportunities without much in terms of capital or special skills but more of self belief and hard work. We should all aim at creating our own job opportunities because that is the only way we shall be able to say bye to unemployment and perhaps low wages. Fellow high school finalists take this time to think deeply of something you can do. Be creative, innovative and on top of everything believe in yourself.Different organizations and individuals have taken great steps in supporting students/youths with promising projects and ideas. So the choice is ours to think smartly and productively of such business ideas with no excuse and worry about the financial stability. Let us make job creation our goal and strongly work towards achieving it.Hillary Clinton once said, "Always aim high, work hard, and care deeply about what you believe in. When you stumble, keep faith. When you’re knocked down, get right back up. And never listen to anyone who says you can’t or shouldn’t go on.” Best
