Rivals Kigali CC and Challengers battle for semis spot

The Zaaffran & Blueberry Hotel T20 tournament continues this weekend when Kigali CC take on rivals Challengers CC on Sunday at Kicukiro cricket oval.Both teams go into tomorrow’s game with four points each and whoever wins will proceed to play Right Guards in the semi-finals. The two teams last met in the final of the previous tournament and Challengers overpowered Kigali CC by 40 runs.Challengers will be without their star batsman Sairam Gopalan, who is currently in India. In his absence the team will be looking at Subasish Samal to produce an all round performance."We will definitely miss Sairam but other guys will do well,” said Challengers captain Srinath Vardhineni.Kigali CC captain Zaki Hassan acknowledged that they come into this game as the under dogs but are promising to work hard. You never know we can beat them this time.” KCC will depend on their star players Harish Patel and Muhammed Zeeshan.The game between Impala Titans CC and Telugu CC will determine who comes third and fourth in group A. They have both lost two games and are already out of the running for the semi-finals.Impala Titans will unveil a new player called Ivan Mitali in this game. "This has been done to strengthen our bowling department,” said their captain Arsene Muganineza.In the women’s league, Charity CC will be up against Queens of Victory CC in a do or die game on Saturday. The game is the decider of who plays White Clouds CC in the final."We hope to ride on the luck we have always had against Charity” said QVCC captain Diane Bimenyimana, adding, "We have never lost to them and we hope it stays like that.”.
