Kagere excited about ‘home return’

Amavubi Stars striker Meddie Kagere is one of the three Ugandan-born players, who play for the Rwanda national team and the two are on the squad set to face Uganda Cranes today.Kagere, who features for Rwandan league champions Rayon Sports, is excited about his return to his country of birth. The other two are APR’s midfield duo of Charles Tibingana Mwesigye and Andrew Buteera, however, the former is not on the squad."I cannot wait to return to Uganda, but as usual, I will play my best and win for my new home”, Kagere told Ugandan sports blog Kawowo Sports on Thursday.He added, "On Saturday, it will just be a special feeling that I will be playing at Namboole and I expect majority of my childhood friends and family members to be in the stands.”Haruna Niyonzima, who features for Yanga in Tanzania will lead Amavubi’s troupe against Uganda. He said "a game against Uganda is a big challenge that we have to overcome as a team.”
