Newly established Rayon Sports Volleyball Club has signed seven players ahead of the next league championships in January 2014.

News of the new players was confirmed by head coach Fidele ‘Fidjo’ Nyirimana, also signed recently after guiding the National University of Rwanda side to the 2013 league title.

Among the new signings include; left attacker Evode Munyandinda, setter Theogene Tuyishime and right attacker Eric Machine Nsabimana, all from National University of Rwanda, as well as Rwandan international centre Vincent Dusabimana Gasongo, who spent last season in Qatar.

The Nyanza-based side has also signed left attacker Athanase Bigirimana, centre Fred Musoni and libero Alexis ‘Debande’ Ntakirutimana, all from APR.

The new acquisitions have signed two-year deals each.

The team also wants to sign Inatek right attacker Richard ‘Sungu Sungu’ Muhirwa  and NUR’s centre Guillaume Irakarama, according to Nyirimana. "Our goal is to instantly become one of the top sides in the country”.

"We are in talks with other players and soon we will give you the list of them all but for Muhirwa and Irakarama everything will be sorted as soon as possible because we want them immediately,” Nyirimana told this paper on Wednesday.
