Sunday evening burst into colourful and exciting dances as Ingazo Ngari cultural group performed before a huge audience at Serena hotel, Kigali.The beautiful and lively traditional instrumental music was the highlight of Sunday night, as local cultural group performed to a visibly excited crowd."I absolutely loved the way Ingazo Ngari performed tonight,” said Jemima Uwitonze, a resident of Kigali, who had come to see the performance. "There is a huge difference between the way this group has performed today and three years back when I first attended their performance. They have nailed it!” Ingazo Ngari is a group of young Rwandans, who use traditional dance to promote the country’s culture. The troupe was formed in 2006 and it is currently believed to be among the best traditional dance troupes in the country. The group performed local traditional songs and dances, as well as several other traditional performances from across Africa. The pieces ranged from a graceful ballet by the troupe’s female dancers, to the energetic dances by male dancers. The impressive performances elicited spontaneous applause from the fully packed auditorium and brought it to its feet for a standing ovation at the end.The audience included the young and old. The Sports and Culture Minister, Protais Mitali was the chief guest at the event. "With the role you (Inganzo Ngari) are playing in promoting the culture we are sure the young generation will carry on and understand the history of our country to build a strong ground for our culture,” he said. The Inzira ya bene u Rwanda concert started at 5pm and ended at 9pm.
