I hate people who...

I have said it here before that I wish people could be subjected to a mental check up before getting a driver’s licence. How else do we explain the level of idiocy that some drivers employ when they find it wise to increase speed as a pedestrian crosses the road?

…increase speed the moment they see a pedestrian crossing the road. I have said it here before that I wish people could be subjected to a mental check up before getting a driver’s licence. How else do we explain the level of idiocy that some drivers employ when they find it wise to increase speed as a pedestrian crosses the road?

They assume that the pedestrian will start running on seeing their metallic excuse of a car. But what makes you think everyone who is walking can suddenly start running just because they have seen your car? What if one is ill, should they heal immediately and start running?

…think it is only them who have urgent things to do. The other day, I was in a short queue at the ATM waiting to withdraw some money that I can use to grow the economy when a lady showed up and begged to be allowed to go in before everyone because she was in a real hurry. She did not even bother to ask those at the back of the line like yours truly but instead spoke to the guy who was going in next like he was the bank manager.

So I wonder what makes such people think that others are not urgently in need of money. That we are just out for some sunbathing as we watch others withdraw their money? If you need money urgently why not keep it under your bed.

…assume that I should behave in a way just because they are older. For sure some people will never understand that respect is earned not demanded. Last week I fought my way into those big KBS buses that have some passengers sitting while others stand.

Just before the bus could leave the taxi park, one lady who seemed to be about 10 years older than me looked at me then said, "Ah you look like a young man, why don’t you give up your seat so I can sit.”

Well I simply refused because she was not an elderly person, not pregnant nor disabled. I actually detest the fact that she was asking me to be a gentleman when I really did not feel like. If she had wanted a seat she would have waited for the next bus that had more seats.

…are quick to attend to you when you least need them. You all know those annoying waiters and waitresses who love to take their time to bring your order almost making you think they had to grow the food first. I have discovered that they have an ultra annoyance level as well.

After taking ages to bring your food, they will quickly show up to ‘confiscate’ your plate the moment you pause to answer a phone call or read a message. If caught they stupidly say, "Oh I thought you were done.”

As if they cannot see that my big piece of meat is still on that plate. A part of me thinks they rush to pick your plate or your drink so they can go behind and finish it themselves.

…have their life priorities clearly messed up. I read in one of the regional newspapers that some university students in Uganda were spending part of their time engaging in unprotected sex and even going as far as filming themselves while at it.

What I found very disturbing though is the fact that a student at the university can find it wise to protect her hair from water as she indulges in unprotected sex in the bathroom.

To her, she would rather protect her hair from getting wet than using a condom for protection against HIV. How such useless people are allowed to even leave hospital after birth must be mankind’s biggest failure.
